Is this a Cletrac ?

When I was about 15 (1958) the fellow I worked for used John Deeres, but he had a rubber tracked tug that was used by the military to move large aircraft. He put a blade on it and used it to repair waterways and push brush. As best as I can remember it had a road speed of around 10 MPH. It was gas and I think the tracks looked like those on tanks. (longer on top than bottom) He said it was a Cletrac. If that is correct I can't find a picture anywhere of one that looks anything like it. Could someone help point me in the right direction. Thank you

That's it. Thank you A.P. I wasn't sure my memory would go back 42 years. Only got to ride on it once from one farm to another. I never got to play with it on my own.

You are welcome Charles. I would love to get a ride on one. They were built by Cletrac and by John Deere. I believe that the John Deere produced version still had Cletrac cast into the manifold. Guess they couldn't find a lot of use for a two cylinder engine in the war effort ;-)

Sounds like you are talking about a Cletrac MG1. They had a top spped of over 20 mph. Check out the pictures at:>Link
