There is a 1755 4wd for sale here in this town they want $7900 or best offer. It has a cab and loader, and a snowblower. How dependable are the 4wd and what brand of motor does this have he said he didn't know but said the tractor is in good shape...

The 1755 should be a good tractor for you. It has a non-turbo 310 waukesha. The 4wd drive should be fairly dependable. We have an 1855 with a heavy loader and 9ft loader on. The loader is strong enough to pick the back end off the ground and boith rear tires are loaded. We haven't had any problems with it yet. The only problem is without it in fwd it is really clumsy. You can hardly get enough weight in the rear, and our 1855 weighs 17,500. The reason for this is that the front axle sits back farther than newer tractors making the back end lighter. Make sure the fwd works because they are quite pricey to fix. We paid $4,000 for ours. It was a really good deal that is hard to come by and our is identical to the 1755 your describing, minus the snowblower. The price is definetly reasonable if everything works well.
