I have a 48 Cockshutt 30 with the pedestal style starter button mounted to the top of the starter that is activated by a button and rod mounted on the dash.. Does anybody know of a source where I can find a replacement, or will I just have to mount an automotive starter solenoid, and rig up some other type of starter button? Thanx in advance... Dave

I had the same problem. The three pieces get eroded then don't make contact. I took safty silv 15 and brased all the pieces and ground them back flat. Safty silv used mostly by refrigeration guys for soldering lines. My local welding shop carries it, it is pretty simple to use just clean parts with wire brush. You will have to use a turbo torch or oxyacetaline torch with a brazing tip the propane torch won't get hot enough. It works good because this product melts at a high temp and will not erode even as much as copper. I did this because it is not the same as the farmall a and I had trouble finding one.

any auto parts store should be able to order you one..have to look in an echlin book which is an electrical supply for these type of switches and stuff..look through the book and pick out the style you need they are very common around 7 to 15 dollars if memory serves me correctly

T.H.E. Company can send one to you. They have or can get just about anything and the prices are good too.
