Oliver 70 Hart Parr

A friend of mine is in the process of restoring
a Oliver 70 Hart Parr. We think the tractor was
made around 35 or 36. Did this tractor come from the factory with side curtains on the motor. Want
to restore it back to original if possible.

The 1935 Oliver 70 had full side panels, they were different from the next series in that the '35 model hooked on at the top and had a swing down latch that hooked to a small bracket on the panel. The brass plate on the engine should indicate the serial no as well as year model. Hope I rememberd that correctly. My Dad bought a '35 dealer demonstrator in the spring of '36, I still have the operator book. I have a later HP 70 book that has more pages and some additional information, it came with a '38 model Fleetline 70 with the 5 gear engine and flat fenders, need to get it restored. Delbert

Delbert is correct. the 35's had a side panel that hung from the top with hooks, some time in 36 they went to the same panel but with the pin style of attachment. And in late 37 went to the styled tractor with the old 5 gear engine. The new three gear engine came in mid 38.Richard Lynch has good curtains reproduced for the 36 & 37 HP 70's. Good Luck
