The 770 has a 1000lp hydrolic system and the 1600 has a 2000lp system,it make a differance if you want to add a loader.Allso the 1600 has a faster pto speed.

Steve, Just some info help on 770, Know where real nice late one is for sale if interested. I have been around both and really haven't had that much trouble with either one. 3pt is lot handier on 1600 than 770, but the rear access of 770 makes then real handy, and it won't burn the gas that a 1600 gas will, if talking gas in 1600. Good luck with which ever you decide.

It depends a lot on what you need to do with the tractor. We have a 770 and it is a tuff little bugger, but the hydraulics are very weak compared to other tractors. We also have two 1855 olivers, and the 770 doesn't compare as far as hydraulics. I am not real familiar with 1600, but they are going to be heavier, stronger, and more clumsy depending on what you need to do. The other guy is right about rear access on 770.
