Hi guys:

I'm kinda new to the Oliver board was was looking for some info...I'm looking at a 1750D Oliver. Using the information this site I found the serial no. and found that it is a 1967 (#185614). I was wondering what the real differences were between to 1750 and the 1755, and did the 1750 have the same "herky-jerky" hydraulic loader characteristics that I've read about here recently. I was gonna get it as a loader tractor...love Olivers. Thanks in advance for any info.

The 1750 breathes naturally and the 1755 has a turbo. A good thing according to some of the experts on this board. (Less problems with the non-turbo on the Waukesha 310)

The 1755 doesn't have turbo. The 1855's & up do though.

I didnt think the 1755 had a turbo, my book doesnt tell me, but I thought the 1855 was the first in the 55 series with a turbo on. I could be wrong, it has happened before.....

According to my WFE literature:
The 1755 was normally aspirated.
The 1855 was "lightly turbocharged".
The 1955 was "fully turbocharged".

All used the 310 engine.

Thanks a bunch guys...this thing sounds workable, They're strarting at $4000.00 with cab and wf, 60% rears and 3pt. I think I've got some wiggle room.

If you want to have a REAL loader set up, add a reservoir and a PTO pump with it's own set of valves. No herky jerky, no worrying about the tractor hydraulic system quitting because of overuse, etc.

After replacing one of the expensive pumps on his 1855, my fiance's dad put on PTO pump and separate valve and reservoir.

Ok, lets see if I can get some of the differences in the two tractors.

- The hydraulic systems are different 1750 is an open center system the 1755 is a closed

- The 1755 has a hydraulic brake system and a hydraulic pto.

- The 1755 has a rubber mounted platform and a longer dash.

- The 1750 will likely have a two speed hydra power tork and the 1755 will have the three speed hydraul shift tork

Both tractors have the same engines, same horse power, and close to the same transmission. The 1750 does have a different hydraulic system but may have some of the same jerky characteristics as the 1755. The best way to have a good loader tractor on any machine is to have a separate valve set up just for the loader and not run the loader off the remotes. Hope this helps some

One advantage that the 1755 may have over the 1750 running a loader with a separate valve taking hydraulic fluid off one set of remotes (instead of taking fluid off a power beyond set up ) is the handle for the remote hydraulic valve on the 1755 locks in the open or pumping position and has to be manually returned to center or off . On the 1750 , I think the remote handle automatically returns to center or off which means the handle has to be tied down to run a loader valve taking fluid off one series of remotes .

Dont get a seperate valve for the loader and then run it off the remotes, run the valve directly off the pump, either off the power beyond plug on the 1750 or tap in behind the pump on the 1755. Makes the loader have a lot more control and power. You will lose hydraulic power through the remotes sometimes, this way you get full pump power to your loader controls.

You are correct that the 1750 will recenter the remotes and the 1755 will have to be placed back in neutral, thats the differences in the hydraulic systems of the tractors.
