Just got my dads cletrac running after 20 years in the weeds,changed the temp gauge and it is running at 200 degrees, the book says 160 is operating temp.Is there a themostat in the side(bottom) hose that might be stuck?? I Plan on boiling the radiator. Thanks

This motor doesn`t have a water pump it is a thermo-siphon system. I do have the sending unit in the head, guess I`ll move it down. Thanks

There are only a thermsotat in upper cooling hose
on the cyl head.
unbolt the thermostat house an check the thermostat.
have you a radiator curtain on it?

C.B will check that in the a.m. There is no curtain on it.The guage I took off rattled when you shook it, so I don`t know if it ran hot when it was parked(died)and was left to grow roots.Thanks
