Manifold,carb combination

The 7700 carb will not bolt to any 9-port head intake manifold. Whatever manifold you pick, you'll need to cut the carb mount and plenum off and weld in your own. Or you can make an adaptor plate to bolt to the manifold, but this defeats the benefit of the large throat in the 7700 carb. Another option is to use an 88 diesel intake and mount it upside down. I believe a 7700 carb will bolt right to this. Mounting the diesel manifold to the head is the only challenge then. 1650 gas is the biggest 9-port manifold that will bolt to the 88 head. A 1600 is a tad smaller and probably wouldn't make much difference. Other than a custom manifold, the 88 diesel intake is the way to go.
