What is involved in adding pto unit to a tractor that did not have one? If you have an extra parts tractor wtih the pto will that work? Is it driven off of the powershaft?

Had a problem with the pto om my 1950, previous owner had apparently removed the engine before he took out the pto shaft, and bent the shaft alittle. the splined piece on the flywheel eventually sheared the bolts, and presto, no pto. Time consuming fix, six bolts I think it was , straighten the shaft, and put it back together.

The one problem is if the spline is not mounted in the flywheel.The detroit takes a differant piece than the 1850.

Tractor is a 1950 Wheatland. It has no pto. Have an 1850 parts tractor available with one. Will it work?

Should work. Good luck. Same pto drive used on 1850 & 1950 GM or T.
