What is the difference between the two and where is the gear shift lever on a 1555

Oliver 1555 also has head lights in front grill like other 55 series tractors .

The 55 series has S88 valves in the head,which give it more power(4or5hp).They allso have the white metal flair on the right side of the engine.The hydrolic system is a little improved and other than that they are the same.The gearshift is the same just to the left of your right toe when you sit in the tractor.
