Chevy 350 V-8 in Fleetline 88

I have access to an Oliver 88 diesel with no engine and a chevy 350 v-8 sitting out back. How hard would it be to adapt this engine into the 88 and still retain the live hydraulics and pto? I would assume I would have to adapt the 88 flywheel to the v8 and will have to add a belt driven governor to the engine as well.

Ignoring the obvious issue of a car engine isn't a tractor engine I would suggest you look at the gearing---I suspect the 350 runs a tad faster than the original engine.

The puller boys run turbo 350's and 410CID max, use a universal constant velocity joint to couple the 350 and the tractor trans. Live PTO is a no-no. Hydraulics, use a side mounted pump on hte engine.

If you do try it, use PTO hub off current flywheel. and mount the factory clutch and hub in the factory location. Make your own clutch housing and engine adaptor plate.

Oliver - 1600 RPM for power
SBC - 35-6500 RPM for power
so you should look at maybe a 2:1 reducer.

How about mounting the engine higher and putting a 3:1 chain drive in between it and the clutch? Support the mess with a custom adaptor. That's how they did my Allis B with a Wisconsin.
