There was an Oliver company that made typewriters a long time ago. I know the Oliver corp. was into a lot of things but I can not find anything that links the Oliver that made tractors to typewriters. Are they the same or are they completely different companies. Sherry would know.

Sorry, the only things they share are a name and preference for painting their machines green. Check out my page for info on the Oliver Typewriter.

Yah, I know this is an old topic but, I just wanted to clear up the history for postarity - who knows how long he info will be maintained here. And the Itialian "Olivier" typewriter is actually called Olivetti, which is still in business after all these years.

Yes they are the same,spelled the same too.A couple for sale right now on ebays site.Oliver was a large company and had their fingers in alot of different things.They also made boat motors for example.

Look at the spelling on that typewriter; I think the company was Olivier? and based in Italy?
