Has anyone had the valves stick on the cylinder head after applying a load the engine. Not the same valve sticks every time. the head has just been rebuilt (70hours). It did this before the head was done. Valve clearance is set and been checked many times. If you leave it sit for 10 minuites at idle it quits missing and you can work for 10 minuites again.

I had same problem on 880 diesel I took the head to a former oliver mechanic who counterdrilled the valve guides on the bottom . He said it was due too it being indirect diesel [power cells] that they ran dirty and carbon buildup on the valve stems , the counterbore is suppose to break off the carbon as it builds . Its been 2 years since and it see's 100 plus hours a year heavy farm work with no problems.
