I am going to look at an Oliver 1850 for my dad. What are some quick check items I should look for.

Trans?
PTO?
Start up problem?

This is a 1968 modle with about 6000 hrs. I don't know if the engine has been overhauled, tires are about 50% and it has a Hinker cab.

What would be a fair price if it checks out ok?

Thanks for your help,

David

Well with the engine running fairly fast you should be able to hear the preasure relief pop between your legs when you yank back on the hydrolic levers. If not suspect a weak pump.Allso the steering should work some when the engine is running slow.Look for looseness in the steering and air bubbles in the raditor.
