I know that an 880 has a 265 compared to a 216 engine of a 770. Other than that, what are the major differences between the two? The frames look about the same size, is the transmission in the 880 heavier duty to accommodate the 15 extra hp? They generally look about the same size. Any answers on this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! John.

I don't know all the differences, but I do know my 880 axles are larger than my 770. This being the case, many other final drive parts will also be different.

Early on they where the same, maybe a higher speed ring and pinon in the 880.Later the 880 went to a heilical gear transmission, which shifted easer and made less noise. The 770 stayed with the old slideing gear trans.
