High sellers at auction

We went to the Dumont auction in SE-Iowa and enjoyed a nice day watching the tractors sell. Talked Olivers and met with a lot of nice and interesting Oliver people. The only problem is the nephew forgot his cell phone and had to backtrack after the auction to retrieve it. Here are a couple of high flyers that topped the auction. A super nice HP 70 WF went for $13,500. A HP 10-20 sold for $12,000. A straight, clean, Massey 98 sold for $19,000. The featured tractor was Dumont's Oliver 80 with the Buda diesel that found a new home for $18,000. The one that shocked me was a 66 with a single front tire sold for $7750. I have no idea what was so special about that 66.
Unless anyone wants to hear any more I'll quit here.

I can't for the life of me figure out where these guys get these prices. I'm especially shocked that those Massey 98s(really an Oliver with the "drip-troit" engine")are bringing around 20 grand in original condition. I know they didn't make many of them, but come on.

Nick, what did the Oliver 60 wide front sell for? Also would you know what either or both of the 77 wide fronts went for? Oh, and the 66 with the wide front end.

I've been to the DuMont Museum in the summer of last year. It was definitely worth the drive down there. Jeff.

Jeff, the 60 wf brought 2750. The two 77's brought 3500 and 2600, the higher price for the old cast front end. And the 66wf sold at 3500. Every thing there was in restored condition(except the Massey).

The Museum is by no means empty. They have at least 75 tractors remaining in the museum and are adding additional tractors. He is concentrating on the three and four digit tractors, especially the High Crops, Orchards and Mechanical Front Wheel Drives. They will be adding a "A" Series 1900, a 1850 High Crop, a 2255 and others. The Roy Rogers Room is being converted to a Oliver sign and literature room. He will also display some of his 1000 Lional trains.
It is still a must see if you are into Olivers.

Yeah, I should take a trip down there. I'm hitting the national show for sure and I would love to visit the Dumont's next summer as well.
