New to Oliver, have some questions

I just bought a Oliver 88 pulling tractor. It has the 4 main block in it and when it decides to not run anymore I want to upgrade it to a 7 main block. Which block will bolt into the 88? Which block can I put a converted diesel cross flow head on. This is for open rpm naturally aspirated classes. Thanks in advance.

Good news is that there's a lot of 310's in the boneyards; bad news is that most have a busted head.

If the head is cracked it can usually be welded. Many have nothingg wrong with them.

As far as the seven main block look for a 283 or 310 diesel or gas. The seven main blocks are pretty much all the same especially given your application and the parts will interchange. The 310 has the advantage of starting with 3/8" more stroke. When you start to get serious give Brad a call of Maibach Tractor in Creston Ohio at 800-808-9934.
