I have recently purchased an Oliver 66 and the clutch is sticking. I have heard the throwout bearing would cause them to do this and that they went out often in Oliver tractors. Has anyone had this problem and can it be fixed without taking the clutch apart. Any info would be appritiated. Thanks

Yeah, me too!! My new first Oliver 66 makes noises when I first push pedal, Ok when releasing the clutch, but all the way down makes same noise. Sounds like something rubbing a spring or maybe it's the return spring rubbing something?? According to manual, no adjustments on this clutch, when it wears down and pedal goes to platform it's replacement time. Worst part is book says pull engine. I don't see why you can't remove the bellhousing in the frame. have to pull the PTO tho, that's another bummer!

Afternoon job to pull 66 clutch and don't need to pull motor as I've done several. Watch diameter of new clutch plate as I got caught once as new clutch was just a little bigger and hung up on flywheel so out she came that one took less time as it was clean bolts etc [and I was a little grumpy]
