Oliver fans: There will be an auction of Oliver tractors, crawlers, some equipment and parts Oct. 26, beginning at 9 a.m. in Clarion County in Western Pennsylvania. The place has been around since 1937 and there's a lot of odds and ends at this sale. There is a listing in last week's Farm and Dairy newspaper (Look for the name L.L. Neely and Sons in Lamartine Penna). But, while the listing is fairly complete in the tractor and crawler listings, it doesn't mention (of course) that most of the stuff is in poor condition. But there are a lot of things not listed. There is an instrument cowling for a Super 55, some other tin for varoius Olivers (not a lot but some). The auction is listed through a David J. Wack Auctioneers of Zelienople, Pa. and the telephone number for the autioneer is listed as 724-452-8814. I'm an Oliver fan with a 550 and a 60 and live near the place. Most of the stuff he will sell at auction has been outside for years, but some of it is in pretty shape for the shape its in. I have no financial interest in it other than I might be able to buy some of it now (the owner is famous locally for his incredibly high prices). Just thought some of you Oliver guys would like to know. There also are some advertising signs to be sold, and some of those are pretty sharp.
