Anyone know why the 2050 has mesh sides?

Why out of all the 50 series oliver is the 2050 the only one with mesh side panels?I could guess heat,but you would think they would of used it on the newer 55 series also if that was the case.Maybe just a design quirk by engineers?

I don't know why the 2050 has mesh sides, especially when it isn't turboed, and the 2150
is;you'd think the 2150 would need hood ventilation more than the 2050 did. Another question that comes to mind is why did the 2050 have planetary final drives as standard equipment when the 2150 didn't? Danny.

The planetary final drives were an option on both the 2050 and the 2150. It wasn't standard on either.

I have a White publication "Progress...in Tractor
Power from 1898""Charles City Plant, White Farm Equipment" ,that makes the planetaries on the
2050 out to be standard equipment, optional on the 2150. Who better than White to know? Especeally so shortly after 2050/2150 production;
the issue date is March, 1975. I've seen this issue(the planetaries, that is,) referred to in
another place-just can't remember where it was.
