1971 year, 1955 White-Oliver I added endloader with seperate control device (Gression 4 port closed system). hooked in hyd port with on/off valve just below seat left side. I assume that tractor has open system as oil gets hot after extended use. I keep shut off valve closed as much as possible as rear lift don't work. My question is can Gression control valve be converted to open systen??? And will my endloader & rear lift at the same time?? Thanks for your valued imput.

These tractors are also easy to install a 3rd valve in the existing system and you can also put one on with a float position if you can find one.

Why can't you run your hydraulics through the regular hydraulic outlets at the back right of the driver's seat? Run one pressure line to one outlet, and one return line to the other. Then take a tarp strap and hold that hyd.lever on all the time. Your 3 pt. should work and the loader should work, too. We have done that with a few tractors. Good luck.

Thanks to Shep & IanC. I appreciate your expert advice. I will follow up on the lines. I was not aware of cooler in front of tractor. I always try to preform good maintance but I missed that one. In central Il. when we get a large snow storm, the will chill is always 40 below, and it's a pain in the rear when to turn valve to switch from rear blade to endloader. With your valued advice I will be ready for winter.
Thanks again for your time & I owe you one.

1755,1855,and 1955 all have closed center systems. The best place to tap in for "power beyond" is in the big tube that goes around behind the resevoir. Pressure comes from the priority valve to a "tee" that feeds the 3pt system then goes around the back to the remote valves. Tie into this tube between the 3pt tee and the remote valve stack. Run the return to tank line from your loader valve directly into the resevoir, there is a plug in the lower left rear of the resevoir for this, as ANY restriction in the system will heat the oil.

I have a front end loader on my 1855 with a seperate valve too. Your tractor should be like mine and have a closed center hydro system. My loader valve draws fluid from the line off the pump on the left side just before it goes into the tractor, and returns into the bottom of the hyraulic unit.

First there is no reason you should need a cut off valve to the loader control, mine does not use one and works fine. Also you should be able to use the three point and the loader at the same time, I move round bales with both all the time and they both have power. I would say you have something hooked up wrong at the loader or you have a valve sticking.

Also if your oil is getting hot you need to change your hydraulic filter, and when you do you will have no choice but to change the fluid too as it all runs out when you pull the filter. Also clean the hydraulic cooler out in front of the radiator, these tractor have a bad habit for getting the hydraulic oil hot and you will cook seals and o-rings and have leaks everywhere if you allow this to continue.

Just some thoughts, but you should be able to make this work the way you want it to.
