Oliver 88 Engine Rebuild

I'm gathering parts to rebuild my two Oliver 88's; one's a Standard, the other a wide front Row Crop. I've got pistons & sleeves and all gaskets. Still need to get bearings, but I'm waiting until after the tear-down and re-grind. My question is why don't I see things like oil pumps, camshafts, lifters, water pumps, etc. included in comprehensive overhaul kits? Can I still get them? I see pistons, sleeves, gaskets and bearings; doesn't anyone worry about the other parts that wear out or provide essential service? Please let me know what's readily available to your knowledge. Are head kits available? Does anyone know of a parts interchange manual for the parts? Thanks for your time.

Chad, the reason these things aren't included in the rebuilds is that the life of these parts is longer than the life of the bearings, cylinders, pistons and rings. Engines can be rebuilt 3 to ten times or more before the oil pump needs attention. Water pumps can sometimes last similar long periods. I'd guess that most tractors have the same cam that came from the factory. Some of these parts are available but some will not be. A rebuild kit for the water pump is almost always available. I don't know what you mean by a head kit. If you mean a valve regrind gasket set, yes. Check with your local AGCO dealer. My local dealer in Austin, TX carries the AGCO parts but usually gives me generic substitutes that are much cheaper.
