Hello, I have a 1950 '88 that the previous owner axed a whole in the hood to fit a replacement muffler. A guy told me that you can get some rolled replacement tin especially formed for this to weld in. Where do I buy this? Guess how the previous owner got a bigger battery to fit through that small battery opening????? ??? WHY-WHY-WHY???? Thanks, Bill

Bill--

There is nothing special about patching these hoods. My 88 had a hole you could jump through. I went to the hardware store and bought a piece of 6 inch diameter black stove pipe. Unroll it to match the curvature of the hood and use pop rivets to hold it in place. Then your best friend will be plastic body filler to make it look nice. For 10 bucks it's an easy job. Send me an email if you have questions. Brian.

Sounds like you should be looking for a new hood, not a patch!
