Hi Cockshutt experts, I looked at a Gambles Farmcrest 30 today..1948. Still could see the Gambles decals quite easily...although the paint was all rust colored, This guy ran pretty good, no smoke, wfe, pretty tight steering, real decent sheet metal, good fenders and pto shield... tires hold air, one rim pretty rusty..what do you guys think this puppy is worth? He's wants a $1000 for it. Also is there any difference other than the decals between the Farmcrest and Cockshutt 30... When restoring, should it have the Cockshutt decals or can you get the Gambles decals?? Lot's of questions, I know, but I'm pretty excited about this one.. I've never had a Cockshutt before, just Farmalls, and a Massey Harris

$1,000 is a good deal for a Gambles 30. Besides the logo, identical to the Cockshutt and Co-op E3. Nevertheless, the Gambles logo is far more rare than the other two. The wide front alone is worth $250. Good straight sheet metal is another big plus. If I found it, I would buy it.

The asking price seems to be right in the middle
of prices I seen lately. Unrestored 30s priced
from $650-1500. Price is always subjective and
you always must figure in the "I gotta have it"
factor, all add to the price. The Cockshutt 30,
CO OP E3 and Farmcrest 30 (Gambles) are all the
same tractors with different paint and decals.
All marketing plan to push the new Cockshutt made
tractor to a wider market and get new dealer
outlets. I would restore as the Gambles model as
few of these were sold. As shutt 30 said the decals are available from Keith McClure. Website

I don't know where Shutt 30 resides, but in Southern Indiana that is a very reasonable price. Heck it is getting to the point that about any old tractor that runs and drives is worth a $1000. There are still bargains out there, but nothing like 5-10 years ago. I say if you want it and have the money go for it. Bill {Antique Acres}

I live in MN and a running very straight tractor went at a auction this summer for $800. and had one new rear tire. I just bought a 30 for $100. but it needs tires and grills. It's not stuck but not running at the time.

It's alittle steep for what I've seen, but if everything is straight and complete and not many in your area its up to you. As far as decals the only differance is the name,(farmcrest or cockshutt) I think? Keith McClure would know for sure, he sells the decals. His number is 330-567-3951 and fax is 330-567-3094.
