My oc-3 will start and run great for 30 minutes then lose power and die. It will not start for 20 to 30 minutes, once it does it runs for a little while and dies again. I have replaced the coil, condenser, and points in magneto. Rebuilt the carb and added an electric gas pump, thought it was starving for gas. I have exhausted my theories need some new ones. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

Your problem sounded familiar to me. I asked my neighbor who I thought had had this same thing happen to his Oliver. I was right. His crawler did the same thing. His problem was the magneto. Once he replaced the magneto it ran fine. You could test this if you could get your hands on some "cold spray" that electronic repairmen use for overheated circuits. Run your engine and let it warm up until it stops as per your problem, then cool off the magneto with the cold spray. If it starts up, you've found your problem. Hope this helps..... .

Good suggestion from Pete. Also check to see that the gas cap is venting. It must let air in or a partial vacuum can cause the flow of gas to slow down (maybe in about 30 minutes)!

Just a thought. You may still be starved for fuel. I had 3 kernals of wheat get into my fuel tank once and it would run fine for a while and then die. One would get sucked into the outlet and cut off the fuel. Until I got them out it gave me fits. It might be worth checking your tank.

I agree I once had a dead spider in the tank that acted like the wheat kernals. It would eventually get sucked under the gas and block the opening on the tank and stall the tractor. After it set for a little while, it would float to the top again and the tractor would start right up again. You also might check any screens that are in the sediment bowl or at the inlet elbow of the carb. (if so equipped)
