Oliver 60 drive train

Help!

Just bought an Oliver 60, not sure of the year yet, but after two days of putting around the homestead, the tractor suddenly doesn't move in any gear, nor does the pulley wheel turn. Noticed the shaft running from the engine to the rear gear box has about an inch or two of play, meaning it will slide forward and backward. I can slide it back a little into the gear box and the pulley wheel will turn and I can get the tractor in gear but any load (releasing the clutch) pops the drive shaft out of place again. Where should I start when solving this problem?

Sounds like the same problem that I have had with several different 60s. Check the shaft coupler, and see if the 2 keys are still in place inside the shaft coupler. May be gone or sheared off.

It sounds like you have lost the coupling that
connects the shafts together.
