Hitch set up for a antique class, for a 77

i would like to find out the best set up would be for a oliver 77, it will be pulling in antique class. so for now i want to run the stock drawbar. i was planning on running 20 inches high.
DO I WANT THE HITCH CLOSE TO THE REAR AXLE OR FURTHER OUT?
the stock bar has two settings
also if it matters i have full sheet metal rims (front and rear) and can not have any weight brackets just wheel weights.

i've been pulling a 77 for about 10 years now i'm on my third different hitch setup i've always done well pulling with this tractor. the first hitch i built was 18 inches from were the pin goes through the clevis to the center of the axle and 19 1/2 inches on the height i did real well with this hitch. my second hitch was right at 16 inches from center of axle i left the height at 19 1/2 inches i did okay with this hitch but my front end was hardly ever coming off the ground i built my third hitch last month i used the original draw bar setup but i cut the back section out and put a plate in there with a hole in the center for my clevis pin i set my my hitch at 20 inches from center of axle to center of clevis pin hole my height is at 20 inches right now the reason i used the original drawbar was i'm begining to pull in diferent assocaitions some of them have rules for hitch height and how close you can get from the center of the axle with your hitch i took a third at my last pull with my latest hitch my front end is coming of the ground now. you need to get your air presure right in your tires to i'm running 11 psi in mine right now i hope this helps

If you need to get the front end in the air get the drawbar as far back as you can. It really has helped out my 1951 Massey Harris 30. It is like a pry bar, the farther back you hold it the more leverage you are putting on the front end. You don't want to go overboard and put it too far back. Tony

As close to the axles as rules allow and as high as rules allow.
