Hi and Thanks I have learned a lot from the people on this form and have a oliver 77 that was built in 1950 that I got on a auction that runs great I'm learning how to farm on 40 acres I just bought a year ago. Can anyone tell me if there are any book on used farm equipment and how to use them I have some old farmer frends that help but I would like to learn new things to Thanks for any Help Jeff

A good general book on tractor care and safety, with a some discription of different implements is, The Old Tractor Bible. It is available at bookstores and, most likely on this site.

Dear Jeff, I have 2 books that are helpfull in understanding older farm equipment and farming methods. They are "The Operation, Care, and Repair of Farm Machinery", that was put out by John Deere. Maybe keep watching E-bay, for this one. The other one is "Farm Power" put out by IH, in 1915, but is being reprinted, and sold by some of the people, that sell tractor books. These are just 2, that I know about, and there could be many other fine books out there.

The Antique Tractor Bible by Spencer Yost is another good one for beginners. From figuring out how big a tractor you need, to showing how to properly plow a field, putting up hay, to keeping it running, all around good book.
