No Oil Pressure To H-P 28-44 Gauge

My friend's H-P has a replacement oil pump and it will pump to the filter but not to the gauge or crank. His mechanic has cleaned all the lines he can find but still no pressure. Is there a hidden oil channel that may be clogged?

No is the answer. All should be visible.
The filter is a bypass type and presumably takes its feed from the main oil gallery, as do the crankshaft bearings.
The oil filter 1) should not take any feed unless the pressure is high enough (8 psi, I think), 2) should be pressure regulated (to protect the filter) and 3) has a maximum flow rate - controlled by the jiggle pin hole size.
If you are checking oil flow by removing the filter, you are only seeing flow at zero pressure.
A better way might be to connect a test gauge at one of the main oil gallery plugs.
At any rate I also advise checking there is oil feed to the valve rocker gear and that the governor is being force fed (by carefully unscrewing the oil filler and checking for lots of oil splash!). My engine suffered from both these. I have had one pipe-blockage to the governor since. Governor weights through the housing are expensive!!
Other causes for the lack of oil pressure might be the main pressure regulator, excessive bearing clearances, or the replacement pump has too much clearance. Regards RAB
