I found a nice late model 18 or 1955 sitting in the weeds,it has a cooler block (no holes)and the key is on the side of the dash.brand new fancy radials still has whiskers on them.Come to find out the state took the farm estate because the owner was selling drugs.and no one has been able to buy anything.is there any experts out there that know how to get around this red tape? this tractor is worth it if the price was reasonable.to the state people it probably looks like it should go to the junk because there is a cobbled loader on it and no hood top.

Brad, dont feel bad. I am going thru the same thing with my neighbor. He owns a 1755 that blew the engine 2 years ago. He never decides on what he wants to do with it, and it has 4 brand new tires, and the rears are 38's. Its just a shame to see it sit.....

I don't know for sure, but I would try contacting the county sheriff. If they don't have any information about it they should know where to get it.

You know how expensive fixing up an old tractor can get, they used the drug money to buy new radials and got busted before they finished the project:(

If property is held or confinscated for a criminal violation the owner is entitled to a hearing to determine if the government has a legitimate claim to the property. In other words the government has to show the property was gained as a result of the illegal activity. Like a car bought with drug procedes. The hearing can take months depending on legal ranglings or appeals by both sides. Until there is a final disposition nothing can be touched. The government uses this kind of a tactic to take the profit out of criminal activities, other wise when the bad guy gets out of jail he will still have all of his assets to go home to. Normally they pick up where they left off. The government has the right to recover some property and money in an effort to pay for the time and money spent during the investigation. This indirectly reduces the total tax dollars spent to do their job. In other words, the bad guy has to pay for his own arrest. As normal the government spends much more than they recover. I hope this helps.
