I've got a beautiful 72 1855. The tractor doesn't do much work anymore and I would like to remove the eight sided cab. I believe the tractor would be more fun to play with in the open air, or maybe under a rollguard and canopy.

Anyhow, what would removing the factory cab do to the value of the tractor? What would the cab be worth sold seperately and would installing a rollguard affect the tractor's value.

Looking forward to reading your replies.

I recently put a rollguard and canopy on a 1655 for $1100. At the time was told could do a 1855 for same cost.

My reaction is removing the cab would reduce the value of the tractor unless the cab is already in real bad shape . I have an 1855 without a cab and it is fun to operate until July and August or January and February and then it gets to be real unconfortable and not much fun unless you like torture . I think you should also count on having trouble finding a used roll guard for the 1855 and that it will be expensive when you find one . From the comments I have seen on this web site you are probably talking about over $1000 to buy a roll guard that is up to original specs . I am assuming that a 1855 with a roll guard would be worth something more than one without but I would think that an 1855 with a cab would be worth a lot more than one with a roll guard . Of course your other option is to take the cab off and sell the cab .

Will it fit on 1955? Is it for sale ? Where are you located?
