Do Oliver engines just bolt to engine stands the way other engines do, or do you have to have a special stand or adapter. I am trying to mount my 77 engine. Thanks

My engine stand has four adjustable mounting points, and you just select 4 of the bell housing bolt holes about equidistant around the circle to bolt to. Don't see why the Oliver engine wouldn't bolt up, just like the others.

What holes on the engine should I use to bolt the engine to the stand? Should I take off the 1/8" piece of metal that bolts to the back of the engine. I thought the bolts might be too small. Thanks

I put the engine for my 60 on a stand and those bolts are 5/16". I have also seen a V8 Chevy that has the same size bolts on a stand. It should hold fine. The only thing I would wory about is if the block goes past the front of the stand legs, it might tend to tip easily.

Chevy's are 3/8" nc. I wouldn't put much of an engine on a stand with 5/16" unless it's a four cylinder(less overhang). You should try to mount the engine so that the vertical center of mass is just barely above the pivot on the engine stand. Putting it just above will let it pivot best with AND without the head installed.
