Hi everyone , I'm posting this question for my neighbor , as he doesn't have a computor. As I have mentioned in the past , I'm not familiar with the 4-didgit tractors. Oil is running out from around the PTO shaft. I'm shure one of you 4-didgit tractor experts would know of the most likely problem / remedy. Would you be able to post/E-mail a copy from a service manual so that we can see the break down? Another question: Does the "1650" have the long shaft runnung between the engine and PTO? Does it go though the hydralic pump like the older olivers? Neighbor is questioning if hydraulic fluids are leaking into differential of "1650" tractor. Any other thoughts? Thanks for any responces.

The long pto shaft runs under the hydrolic pump and drives it with a gear. The hydrolic pump can leak into the rear if the seal and gasket are bad.Gear oil can leak through the sealed pto bearing when it gets loose. You can squeeze the big snap ring and remove the whole thing and replace the bearing.

First, yes the 1650 has a long PTO shaft that runs from the flywheel to the Hydro pump and on back to the PTO. If you are losing hydraulic oil and the rear end keeps ending up overfull you have a leak somewhere on the pan of your hydraulic system and it is going into the rear end. Now for the PTO leak. It kinda depends on where it is leaking. If it is coming out around the shaft it is likely the PTO seal. I replaced the seal on an 1850 and a 2150 and there were 4 bolts around the pto shaft that allowed the shaft to come out and the seal was right there, but I think the 1650 and 1655's are different. I am thinking you have to take the snap ring off the pto shaft and slide it out and there should be a seal in there somewhere, but I will need to get my book to make sure.

Good luck
