A person brought in a starter autolite MZ 4098 for repair . The drive was in pieces .(in a bag) . Can anyone tell me about the drive ? Does the drive gear pull in toward the starter or push out to engage ? .

jumping in a a forum for info, is this a oc3 a crawler, have a friend that has a oliver crawler for sale i thought he said is was an oc3, if so what is one worth that is in good running condition.

Now he brought ne a cut-away picture of it from the maintenance manual . and it shows it your way ,pulling in , .

Now I need a new drive . Where can I get one ?

I have a Autolite MZ # 4074 with drive, that was up on a shelf in a old house, the 6V battery kicked it over,it is a little rusty, don't know if that would be any help or not? I'm located in Upstate NY. 607-263-5727
