I am planning to put an oliver 77 engine in my engine stand to repair the 12" freeze crack it got last winter when it was still with the old owner, (the guy gave it to me). The engine is sitting on the floor on some blocks, and is now stuck. I need to remove the flywheel to get it in the stand but I have never done this before. What is the esaiest way to do this. Thanks for any and all help. Lucas

Lucas, to remove the flywheel you will have to remove the 6 cap screws and the PTO drive hub from the crankshaft, here it is from the manual.
1. Remove the PTO drive hub cap screws and lock washers and remove the hub. It may be necessary to insert two of the cap screws into the tapped holes of the hub and continue tighntening them evenly to pull the hub from the flywheel. (Lucas, there mush be two holes tapped in for this purpose).

2. Pull the flywheel lose from the crankshaft mounting flange and dowel pins.

Good luck. I have the shop manual if you need anymore info. Email me if need be, but I'll be away from the computer tomorrow and Sunday.
