I've been looking at a 1650 gas with 6600 hrs with fair rubber and in bad need of a paint job but am not ready to pay what he's asking, $3500.00. Help me out, what's it worth?

I have had my 1650 for almost two yrs ,it has been a great tractor. I paid 3500 for it and the rubber isn't that great. I am looking for a loader
for it if anyone knows of one let me know

I paid $2800 for mine,gas, wide front, rough cab and paint, 5000 hrs on the broken hour meter. tires fair. That was in central Iowa, 2 yrs ago. I would like to have the over/under, I just have under, but other that It has been an outstanding tractor, I would pay more for another 1650 if I had to replace it.

In my area (Upstate SC) , $3500 for gas 1650 wide front would be about right , maybe a little on the high side . A 1650 diesel would be more . A friend bought a 1650 diesel four or five years ago for I think only $1500 but it was a wide front underslung and the engine needed rebuilding . My experience on tractor that age is condition of paint really is not an issue . Condition of tires and whether tractor is wide front would be more important consideration than condition of paint .

That is what i give for my 1650 12 years ago
and i have never regreted it a bit! You will never be able to buy an old tractor any tougher
or better bilt than a 1650 Oliver in my opinion.
And they have so much more character than a new
tractor plus you can bet a new one the same size
sure wouldn't be made here in the USA! I think they even tore down the old factory and gave it
to the chinese to make sure there wouldn't be any
more of them made over here!

Does this tractor have a wide front or not? If this is a fairly straight 1650, I'd say 3500 isnt that bad. I've seen gas models go for 5,500 in my area, and I even know of a extremly late model diesel for sale and they want 7,500. Its a great old tractor, so you'll have to take into account how good of value this tractor can be to you and what work you need it for.

In our local paper is a 1650 gas with a 7 foot brushog listed for $3750. Dosen't say if it's wide or not. I have a relative who will sell me a diesel 1750 for $2500. It has to split though because someone worked on the transmission and didn't get it back together right. My cousin said the parts will be very cheap($20). It's basically splitting it and putting it right back together. Is this a fair price?

I am not gonna tell you what you should or shouldnt do, but I would stay clear of the 310 waukesha, eventhough WFE will say otherwise. We had the same engine blow twice, and you said you got rear end problems to boot. If that 1650 is mechanically sound, it should be a good deal. You just got to go by what you feel and how good of a tractor it still is. I think the 1650 is Olivers best yard tractor.
