Fatal accident

It calls attention to the fact that there are so many hazards on the farm. Things that we don't really think about happening can in a instant. This post reminds me of a few years ago , my father-in-law and I were pitching horseshoes in his front yard when I heard what I thought to be the neighbors cow balling in the distance. After a few minutes of that ,I could hear that the balling was the neighbor boy holowering for help probably a 1/4 + mile away. I broke and run across the field and the father-in- law brought his truck. When I got there I saw the boy wedged in between a 100 hp White tractor and a little ford with a sickel mower on it . He had been cutting cat tails around the pond with the sickel mower and ended up getting it stuck. He went back for the big tractor to pull it out and when he went to hook up the chain , the big tractor rolled off of the bank pinning him between the two. My Father-in-law pulled the big tractor forward and I picked the boy up and carried him out of the pond and sat him down. Then his mother came in the car and took him to the hospital. I thank the good Lord that the only thing he got out of it was a broken leg. His young life could have been snuffed out so easy. Let's all be careful out there. Once again , my sympathy to the Bennet Family!
