I stopped by a old barn being torn down yesterday, saw that there was a mowing machine inside. I expressed a little interest, the man told me he'd make me a deal. Come & pick it up! So, this morning, I took the tractor down & got it. It's a 3pt model 356, all there, has been in barn, unused for 20yrs. When were these made? It has a chain attached below the hitch pins on either side with a clevis. Where is this supposed to go? Thanks!

The model 365 mower was built in Oliver's Shelbyville, IL plant from 1960 to 1968. The chain that you asked about, attached towards the front of the top three point hitch link. It determines the height of the mower.

The Chain is the top link.

It has a top link, the section nearest the tractor
has a series of notches. It was the only place
that I could figure that the chain might go. Haven't put it there yet, spent the afternoon yesterday greasing everything, taking out the knife & sharpening. Looking forward to mowing some pasture with it this weekend. Thanks for the responses!
