I'am restoring a 1948 77 std. and I need a front grill ant leads? Also for some reason I can only get into 3 of the 6 forward gears and 1 of the 2 reverse gears. I need Help!

From your post, it sounds like you are looking for the sheet metal grill for a 77. If so, I have an extra set that I would be willing to sell.

You can go to www.buyagparts.com and search for any parts including a grill. You can also place an online ad that vendors will answer and quote prices for you. Pretty handy. On the transmission, it sounds like the hi-lo shift rod isn't functioning, not allowing you to get into the other range. Better yank off the transmission cover/hydraulic housing/mechanical lift cover (whatever system you have) and take a look for a stuck shift rod, etc. Not too hard to do and the problem will probably be easy to spot. there isent any springs under rubber boot area. would that have any thing to do with it

I believe you are referring to the centering springs and their absence shouldn't have an impact on whether or not you are able to shift gears, unless, I suppose, on of them were to break and bind the shift rod in place somehow. You won't be able to see them by removing the rubber boot, but you know they are there if the shifter centers itself in neutral. Still looks like you're going to have to pull that cover off and have a look-see. Nothing to it and no sweat. Good luck!
