Is it possibble to change an Oliver 77 narrow front to a wide front end, and if so how hard is it, and how much would a used wide front cost? Thanks

as for where to get them, here's a site. Larry actively deals in Olivers, and currently advertises wide fronts for sale.

Terry is correct the front ends will interchange. The steering shaft and universal joint that are along the engine are different lengths between the narrow and adjustable front ends. If you are buying one be sure to get the shaft along with it, or you will have to make one.

The change over is pretty simple, just unbolt the narrow front, and bolt on the wide front. A good wide front will cost between 500-750, depending on how good of one you want.

Will a wide front off of an 88 fit? How about a off of a super or even a 770 or 880? Anyone know where to find one?

The wide front from any 77,88,770,880 will fit on your 77. Shop around some and don't buy the first one you see. Any needed replacement parts are costly. New tie rods will run you nearly $100 each. I bought one this past weekend in NY, drove up from PA and paid $350 for it. It's in really good shape, not much slop and sorry, it's not for sale. I've seen them bring $500 to $700 and they weren't in better shape then mine. Good luck.
