Hi folks. I attended the Charles City show this past weekend and I was pretty sad to see so few tractors. If I hadnt taken the time to see the old plant site, it wouldnt have been worth my bother of taking off work. Anywho, I was wondering if there are any shows that are featuring Oliver or are strickly Oliver going on yet this summer. I heard of a huge one in Ohio last year with over 300 units. Now that would be worth the drive! My email isnt working, so can you please just write a reply to this posting of mine? Maybe others want to know whats going on too. Thanks to anyone that has information that shares it!

The Baraboo Steam and Gas Show is August 15-18 in Baraboo, WI (50 north of madison, or 90 miles east of LaCrosse off of I90/94. This will be the Midwest oliver collectors and the Badgerland Oliver collectors summer show. Excellent grounds. Expecting around 200+tractors (olivers) and about the same for other brands. I went to the Badger Steam & Gas Engine show last year when they featured AC. Excellent showgrounds, great activities and wonderful people. I would recommend that show regardless of the feature. Next summer, July 10,11,12 &13,2003 The I&I Antique Tractor and Gas Engine Club will be hosting the national Hart Parr and Oliver Collectors' Assoc. show in Penfield, IL. This year we are hosting the Red Power Roundup. Come for a preview of next year's national show July 11,12,13 &14, 2002. John

I was told the Winfield,Ks show August 16,17 & 18 are featuring Olivers. There are a lot of Olivers in my area that are working tractors not show tractors. I am hoping to take 3 Olivers to the Winfield show.

It was kind of dissapointing to see how few units were at the show. But this part of the state is full of small rural communities and its hard to get a lot of people to attend things like this. Later on this summer there is a tractor ride from I believe Waterloo to Mason City. So far I think that there are about 160 units entered, I'm not sure if there are any more spots open or not. The dates for this event are July 7, 8, and 9.

Yes, I too expected more tractors but the park setting did at least provide some shade from the sun, something that the old plant site can no longer provide (sniff, sniff). I had my 1950-T there on Saturday but had to attend another event on Sunday so neither it nor I attended on Sunday. Anyway, the National Oliver Summer Show will be held near Cedar Falls, IA (also near Waterloo, IA) on Aug. 23,24, and 25. They are expecting in the neighborhood of 500 Olivers at this event so I don't think we'll be disappointed. Will certainly be there as well with as much iron as I have time to pull down.

I thought the Charles City show was a little short on tractors, but I think it was the best show I was at where you could take the time to talk to other Oliver enthusiests. Often times when there are "a lot" of tractors you are soo busy looking that you don't have time to talk with others. I thought those who attended all had good conversations with the old Oliver employees that came. Tractors don't talk, people do. I must say I came away with a greater appreciation of those behind the scenes. I here the turnout at the National Summer Show is going to be tremendous. I know I will be bringing my fleet, including implements. See ya there!!!!

I'd agree that the people I visited with there were great too. I got to meet John Culbertson and Larry Gay. Also, I got to buy some decals from Lyle Dumont. I guess I was thinking there would be over 100 tractors, but oh well. I got a one camera full of pictures:) Thanks to the guys for sharing the info on other shows this summer, I hope to make the national show. Thanks to all, j meyer

Does Texas have a show that features Oliver or M. Molines. If not wheres the closes one. FT. worth area. I'd love to see a super 99 gas super 99 GM.and a 995 Lug-O-Matic.
