I have a 1855 oliver that the hydropower steering unit was converted from the saginaw unit about 1982. Now the steering wheel will go around by itself without the tires moving. the dealer is gone anyone know who built these replacement units.

Char-lin made the ones I have seen. The 2-105 has that unit on it.If you have a 1855 you need the closed center valve, thats important because most are open center and wont work. You could probably find a used 2-105 valve at a salvage yard or try to find a new one at the surplus center 1-800-488-3407.If you have it off look to see if the check ball and spring are still in the return port hole.If they are gone try replaceing them first. I used a store bought spring and a ball bearing to fix mine.
