Does anyone know the length of the piston pin (center of pin) to piston top (deck)on a 30 Cockshutt tractor? This is the critical dimension on a piston swap over attempt I am making in one, and I don't have my pistons out yet. I would appriciate it if anyone can tell me.

The compression distance is 2-25/64 or 2.390 according to my sealed power book. Good luck

Find a 230 diesel Buda, The pistons with the knobs on top will fit with out grinding and you can run pump gas. Try Jim Cousins at the Buda engine Co. 1-318-222-3348 or budaengine.com Good luck

Shutt30's book shows it will not work. I wonder if that is a stock piston or a dome? Anyway, I was thinking that 4 pistons out of a Buda 6 cyl. combine engine would work if I had sleeves made custom for them. They are 3 9/16" dish pistons. The head is flat with the combustion chamber in the cylinder in the 6. This may be the difference. If that measurement is correct I would loose a lot of compression I think. What did your pistons measure?

Checked the old piston tonight,the book is correct,stock piston,flat top,2.390.Hope I didn't shatter your dreams,there usually is no easy out,but it's worth checking out.

Sorry Charlie,Igot very busy last night,should find time tonight.I can tell you I tore down three 153's to build 1 ,two had 3&7/16 bore,one had 3&9/16 bore,all flat tops.
