My 1850 wheatland did this what was wrong with it was the steering yoke and main pin were wore out, also you might check the spindles.

I had a similar problem on a 1950T. I never solved it but the man who bought the tractor from me claimed the steering cyclinder needed to be rebuilt. Maybe this applies to you also. Good luck.

When you turn the wheel, have someone look or check to see that the power steering cylinder does not move. Occasionally, they will want to rock back and forth if they are not anchored properly. The puller bolt that Larry mentioned can be part of this problem too but there is also an external anchor that you should ensure is doing its job. I've had to install shims under some of these units to keep them in place when this happens. Good luck.

The puller bolt that holds the shaft up into the power steering cylinder can allso be loose or broken. The shaft wont fall out but will be loose.

Check to see if the steering arm is tight on the shaft that comes down from the steering box. There should be a 5/8" bolt to tighten on the yoke. You may need to turn it to the side to tighten it. I just did the one on my 1600.
