I was wondering what if any difference there is in the transmision of a 550 tractor and a 550 tractor forklift model would be the same? The right side of the shift bank is dead. There isn't anything there. The left side of the trany works fine. What could be the problem with it and how easy are the parts to find or repair?

Does this tractor have a shuttle trans? If so you only have 4 gears on the regular shift, then you have forward and reverse with a seperate lever between your legs

I agree. The broken off piece is down in the bottem with all the gears, sooner or later it will get into them and make a mess.

Sounds like a broken fork. I don't have any experience with the 550's, but I would think the forks would be the same.
