I have a 1954 Oliver 88 row crop stock tractor that I pull in the antique pulls.
the problem is when we bring the front end up 8 to 10 inches, she'll cough and of course lose it momention, sometimes it will recover and some times die out, but the minute the front tire touch the ground you can hit the starter and she'll bust right back off.
I've had the carb professionaly rebuilt, electronic fuel pump installed, inline fuel filter, the tank is perfectly clean, new coil hooked up correctly, blue streak inginiton points and cond. new sediment bowl, have run with fuel cap loose. it'll pull for 300 ft and never miss a beat until the front comes up. please give me your thoughts, I'am at wit's end

Jerry is on track to your problem. You might have to enlarge the hole in the needle and seat. Get some number drills and take a few thousands each time you drill. After you have enlarged it about 20 thousands. Take a new ball bearing and drop it down in the hole where the needle seats and tap it gently to remove any burrsfrom the drill bit. Take the needle and seat and check to see if it will hold vaccum on your tongue. Thats the way I do it.You will have to change your float level if you have to bore it bigger. Let us know how it works for you.IF that works too good you may have to bore the load jet some.

When the front end comes up, the fuel level changes in the carb bowl affecting the fuel delivery.

Try changing the float height.
