Hello to crawler land!
Got a very frustrating situation. Changed out a highly worn sprocket and had a fairly worn street tread track on my little OC-46 rebuilt with new pins and bushings. Try as I might, I can't get the darn thing back together. My best performance got the eyes within 1 3/4 inches. I have the adjustment nuts all off (adjusting nut and lock nut touching). I followed the brief instructions in my manual reprint, and have tried cable - come-along, pry bars, and heaving on it with the tractor on the ground and slightly aloft. I can use any and all advice; official, general, highly advised, or just plain "could work". By the way, is it legitimate for the rebuild shop to have welded one end of every pin? The originals were simply pressed in. I told the shop (and paid for)new parts. Also my manual said that half the rivets on the grouser plates would have to be cut and replaced with bolts. I still have my original rivets. Should I be concerned or did I find a shop that outsmarted Oliver/Cletrac? I'll probably take this up with the shop for advice, etc., but I could use any advice from you all and have enjoyed help in the past. The shop is a good drive and the owner (like other old tractor enthusiasts I am sure)doesn't seem real comfortable with them telephone things. Thanks again.

Count your track links. People had a habit of removing one link when the ttracks got wore to tighten them. It is not uncommon to tack weld the ends of pins as they get loose if pushed in and out 2 or three times. If they had the right press it is possible t remove the pins and bushings without removing the pads. Hope this makes you feel better and did't get took.

Thanks for the tip Gary on the number of track plates. I'll be sure to count the other side. This side has 32 before and after it went to the shop! Who knows if the other side has 32 maybe that one had one cut off as well, but maybe I'm getting paranoid, I hope. Otherwise my last idea to get the track on was to unbolt the subframe, slide it back, hook up the eyes if possible, and then try, somehow, to get the subframe back to its mounting hole. Thanks again.

Hi Dan,
I paid $125 for my used but very good sprocket locally. I overpaid at $300 for the track pins, bushings and shipping. I paid a local shop $300 in labor which included some used track parts that they had for three of my plates. I bought some minor parts from Zimmerman's and found them to be excellent to talk to and relatively easy on the wallet. Shame they ain't closer!

Hope yours works out. I ended up getting the track reinstalled but it was a bit of work. By the way mine has the 4 cylinder Hercules gas engine. I ate up a couple of starters, changed a head gasket, gave her a paint job and a basic tune-up. I'm no expert on Olivers (or computers) but let me know if I can give you any help, etc. on your machine.
