I have a just bought an 1850D for parts. The engine is out and needs new sleeves. I have another 1850 that sufered some type of engine anomally last year(either an blown head gasket or hole in piston is my best guess)I plan to rebuild the engine. I also have a line on a 4-53 out of a 1950. It is available with the bell, clutch Hi/Lo attached and apparently runs. The previous owner had it cranked up to 135HP with bigger injectors but blew out the transmission on the 1950.

My questions are:

1) will the 4-53 bolt into 1850 tub?
2) will the rad be adequate to cool the 4-53?
3) how expensive are parts for the 4-53?
4) have I missed any big points?
5) why is the theme from Deliverance called "Duelling Banjo's" when its really one banjo and one guitar duelling?
