Since the response to this question on the tractor forum was so underwhelming, I thought I'd try here. Maybe y'all will be a bit more helpful. :-)

I've got an Oliver Super 55 with an Oliver front loader. The loader doesn't respond well. I've got to really jerk it up or jam it down hard to get it to respond. The 3 pt works easily and smoothly, though, and it's the same system. My manuals say nothing about it, so I'm hoping you guys can point me in the right direction.

Does it make a difference where you select the flow control? Maybe you have some bad "O" rings. I can email you instructions on disassembly and assembly.

Are you sure it's the same system? There isn't a seperate pump for the loader?

Thanks for both responses, guys. The front loader's lever is attached to a box that was apparently added on (by Oliver?) to the main hydraulics pump box, where the fluid level would be checked if it weren't there. Both the 3 pt and front loader levers are within inches of each other, and they both connect to the same basic area. (The front loader's just a simple ram & trip lever set up.) If I understand it correctly, it's the same system. I do know there's only one resevoir, and actuating either one will raise or lower the fluid level. Thanks for your help and interest!

My super 55 manual shows that control, that would be the one used to run a remote cylinder. There may not be enough oil capacity in the resevoir if theere are 2 big cylinders. They only specify an 8 inch long cylinder in the manual. Could be your valve is plugged or gummed up some how. Good luck.
