Can anyone tell me about the golden eagle. When they were made, how many were made and anything else you may know. Also how much hp did they make. Were they ever tested at nebraska.
Thank You
Stephen

the golden eagle is pretty much the same as a cockshutt 560, which was tested at Nebraska and made 56 horse.

Not to be confused with the Golden Arrow, which was a transition model between the 35 and the 550. These are rare- 135 (?) made, I think- and they're starting to bring the big bucks.

A golden eagle was a model 40 shipped to the U.S. with a perkins diesel. These were built from '55-'58. The book I have dosn't break down the different model 40's and golden eagles for production. Total production for all model 40's including the golden eagle was 14,929. This tractor was rated as a 3-4 plow tractor. I dont have a nebraska test for a perkins diesel but with the earlier buda engine it was rated @ 40.1 max drawbar hp & 45.6 max belt hp. Hope this helps-Tim
